Maybe I'm misreading the SI (it's in French), but I think you have to leave the island to port to finish so therefore have to go over the top and around as according to the set track in the game. The charts are currently showing a direct run in from the east/south???

You are correct, but the router can't give you the perfect island rounding - you have to take care of it yourself.
