When you finish a race/ leg you get vsr points. just wondering how they are calculated

Someone had posted a formula that was close to the current rankings but I can't find it now.

Marcusbelgicus has find the formula for the calculation of the credits :

Credits = 1600 * (7-RaceLevel) / Rank^0,25

and I find the formula for the calculation of the points :

Points = Credits - (64 * (7-RaceLevel) / 6) * (VsrLevel-1)

RaceLevel = From 1 to 6 (2 for TJV, 5 for Rolex China, 4 for VOR Leg 7, etc)
Rank = the arrival rank
VsrLevel = from 1 (beginner) to 14 (Top VSR)

Hello everyone, Two rases are closed - Rolex & JVT. Is your VR ranking updated? My for the last two races still remaining unchanged.

yes, my VR ranking has been updated yesterday for the TJV, and today for the Rolex, as planned.

Hi, understood that your position in total ranking also changed?
In my case VSR poinns are acounted for but my position after these two races is remaining unamended. It is a little bit strange but but being out top 200 I'm not able to verify gaps between in achived VSR points with the skipers close to my position

Good evening everyone,

a small message to share info on one piece of the puzzle which was missing related to the VSR ranking system.
Not sure it would be useful to anyone, but that was "titillating" me since a while ;-)

The credit and points system has had two periods since the opening of VR3. A first for the first 12 races, between the "Opening Race" in September and the �VOR Leg 2�, closed at the beginning of December 2017. And the second period, since the RORC Transat, and which is still ongoing.

Thanks to @Marcusbelgicus, we know the formulas for calculating the credits earned on a race for both periods. By cons, I had so far only found and published the algorithm for calculating VSR points for the current period, and not yet for the initial period.
As we have a little break in the races, I went back to the question of the formula for calculating points for the first 12 races, and it seems I found it !

So the initial system, from September to November 2017 was :
Credits = 1600 * (7-RaceLevel) / Rank^0,45
Points = Credits - 2 * (VsrLevel^2 - 1) / RaceLevel

RaceLevel = From 1 to 6 (2 for TJV, 5 for Rolex China, 4 for VOR Leg 7, etc)
Rank = the arrival rank
VsrLevel = from 1 (beginner) to 14 (Top VSR)

I will add these "old formulas" in the next version of the worksheet for easy access to everyone.

Nice Benoit. We have now all the matematical formulae that VR is using 'so much complicated that it is impossible to publish in the VR help menu' (feedback from Kesako !!! )
