I noticed it today, and the polars for it are ready, but not yet appearing because it makes too many active races on the selection panel, and it breaks the display right now...
I'll make it available once VOR 6 is closing, which is 5 days ahead of now.
Anyway, it's the same boat type than in VOR 6, if you want to lookout already...

Everything but the heavy sails. Plus a nav pack (4 programmings in it) or maybe two. Maybe got one more turn in the barrel. Wasted one of the programmings as precaution, so had no cards left at the finish. Ranking says 54 seconds to the winner, so a better timed gybe may have changed the result, but most likely not.
I haven't seen a solitary Programmer deck for months, and even if it was available as a free choice it would still be too expensive with the 2 cards/turn / progressive scheme.
Not sure if I got a good ROI on the VR credits. Don't have the numbers but seems like a net loss at 2691 coins, 800 free credits and item price of 2840 without radio and heavy sails. Breaks even at two nav packs.

I keep a log. Bought the same upgrades as you, plus one nav pack and one 10-card pack, so I think I spent 90 less than you. Finishing 3rd, I came out ahead by 96 credits. So, you probably came out ahead by a bit more, despite spending a bit more, with your second.

I was so sure I activated auto-sail before sleep yesterday. Woke up at 5 (CET), checked my boat that is sailing in 2 knots. I did programming also, and probably was just thinking to set auto-sail, but did programming first, and then forgot all about the auto-sail. I was quite tired when I did it. So this time the "bug" was all me.
Instead, it is now pretty obvious to me, that it is probably not the smartest and/or luckiest virtual sailor that wins. Of course all of that will help tremendously. But I think the winner is most likely the one (of all of those top contenders) that made the least amount of errors during the race.
