Timeshift allows you to see the conditions at the beginning of the race, in the future. If you look at the route suggested by zezo For leg 3 of the Odyssey now (we are now about 26 hours before the start), timeshift will give you the forecast for the beginning of the race tomorrow at 18:00 CET.

After the start of the race, timeshift has no effect, and zezo will always give you the current forecast.
